I was over weight and I did not feel good about myself. My doctor advised me to loose weight and he told me that a stroke was a possibility. I was told about Curves for Women, so I took change of my life and joined after Christmas. I weighed 199 lbs and now I weigh 169 lbs. I look and feel great about myself. The women at Curves make you feel right at home. You don't have to be ashamed because they do not judge you. So if you want to feel and look great, join Curves. If I can do it, so can you.

Hi, My name is Karen Lawson and I would like to tell you about my weight loss journey.
BEFORE
AFTER
I joined Curves on Feb 26, 2001. I was obese, tired, depressed and did not like myself. I was concerned whether Curves was the right place for me as I thought that I was going to be the only large person there, but I decided to give it a try and from that day on I have been very happy that I made that first step through the doors at Curves. For the first 3 years, I went to Curves 5 days a week. I joined the weight loss class about 3 weeks after I joined Curves and did very well. The inches and weight started dropping right away. It wasn't long and my energy went up, my depression went away, I started sleeping better and best of all, I started to like myself again. I have been at my goal weight for over 1-1/2 years now. I lost 110 lbs. I now go to Curves 3 days a week to maintain my weight and keep up my strenght. On Feb 26, 2008, it will be my 7 year anniversary at Curves. Besides my determination, the Curves staff have been great. They have been very supportive and helpfull. They cheer you on and keep you motivated. They make Curves fun!! Thanks Sooo much girls. As I proceed along my journey of life, I say that I am very happy with my Curves results and glad that I pushed myself to make those first steps through the front doors at Curves, 7 years ago.
Sincerly,
Karen Lawson

This is my story of how I came to be here at Curves. I've always been over weight. There have been 3 times in my life where I wasn't over weight.
BEFORE
AFTER
After 3 kids, it just got harder to keep off the weight. I've never been a big eater. About 5 years ago I had to stop eating anything with chocolate, then came sugar, pop, fat and high fiber. It took years to find out I had IBS. For someone who wasn't a big eater to have to cut out alot more food you'd think the weight would start to fall off. NOT!! I always walk almost everywhere I go. When my sons were babies I'd push them uptown in their strollers. From my house everything was uphill. This should have helped me lose the weight NOT!! Then in the fall of 2003 my daughter said she was going to get married. So I decided that now was a good time to do something about this weight. It took me awhile to get up the nerve to go to Curves. In school I hated gym. Then one day I just walked in and it was nothing like I had thought. There were no skinny little things running around. There were ladies of all shapes sizes and ages. The first day I met Nikki and she showed me that this could be for me. She made me feel like I belonged here and that I could do this. So I started going to Curves, I've now made going to Curves part of my day. I start by walking my son to school, then I continue on to Curves. I go 5 days a week. My daughter was married July 31, 2004. I wasn't skinny, but the dress I wore fit loose and that was fine with me. Some days are hard, but I'm not going to give up. Some day I will be the weight I like. Curves is now and I hope It will always be a part of my life.
